ART DIRECTION

Let me tell you about this fun project! I wanted to create something that captures the joy of guilt-free treats. Playing around in Adobe Illustrator, I came up with these bold diagonal stripes in sunny yellow-orange gradients with pops of green – the kind of colors that make you think 'fresh' and 'delicious' at the same time.

I'm kind of obsessed with how colors work together, so I had a blast figuring out the perfect balance. To make the pattern really pop, I set it against a simple pink and blue background – trust me, it makes all the difference! For the brand name 'BERRYLICIOUS CHICK' and the tagline 'Smarter sweets, sweeter smiles,' I picked a clean, friendly font that says both 'this is good for you' and 'this is going to be tasty.' Because who says healthy snacks can't be fun?

THE GREEN GRIND CHIPS

For my second healthy snack project, I thought about all those kiddos out there who deserve yummy treats that won't make their parents worry! I mean, who says healthy can't be fun, right?

I went all-in on making these chips look irresistible to little ones – actually hand-drew all the fruits and veggies myself instead of using stock images. And I couldn't resist creating this super cheerful orange character that just makes you smile! To make it even more relatable, I added a little girl to the package (because who better to convince kids than another kid, right?).

The whole 'eat your greens' message inspired me to use a green background – a little design psychology there! 😉 And those ribbon-like strokes? I just threw those in for some extra pizzazz because, well, why not make it pop?

Had to bounce between Illustrator and Photoshop to get everything just right. Pretty exciting since this was my first time designing a snack package! Not gonna lie, seeing it all come together made me want to grab a bag myself!

ECHOES OF HER SHADOW

So I took a stab at designing this book cover and really got into the story's themes! You know how sometimes your past just won't leave you alone? That's exactly what I was thinking about when I created that silhouette – it's like the main character's past is literally following them around.

I had fun playing with the words 'ECHOES, SHADOW,' repeating them to give that creepy feeling of memories that just keep coming back. But here's the twist – instead of going dark and moody, I went with this punchy yellow. I wanted to hint that even though things get pretty heavy in the story, there's light at the end of the tunnel.

For the fonts, I mixed Cheddar Gothic Sans with Cocon Pro (typography nerd alert! 🤓). They just clicked together and gave the whole thing this cool, modern vibe that felt right for the story.

I actually ended up with two versions I really liked, so I thought, why not share both? Sometimes you just can't pick a favorite, right? It was just a personal project I did for fun, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!
